Five week course (October 22, 29, Nov 5, 12, 19) to teach you the skills needed for making a "Top-Down" garment. You need to have basic skills of casting on, knit/purl and rib - but this will enable you to tackle a new style of pattern writing and garment making. The course is set out thus:
Week 1. choose pattern, yarn, knit a swatch and cast on
Week 2. Knit the Yoke and shaping
Week 3. Knitting the body and sleeves
Week 4. Body and finishing.
Week 5. Finishing.
Along the way we cover the Italian cast on and cast off, German short rows, M1R and M1L increasing technique - whether they are in your pattern or not - and demystify the European style of writing and executing knitting patterns.
