Learn something new
Classes and clubs are part of the shop rather than an add-on to it, and the plan for them is simple: I will be running the classes you ask for. Whether you have never held a needle or you want to finally tackle the technique you have been avoiding for years, tell us and we will make it happen.
The first classes are below. Every one is booked and paid for here, places are limited, and a class that fills stays on the list marked as full. If nothing on the list suits, use the form at the bottom of the page to tell us what you would like to learn.

Sip and Knit evenings
Thursday or Friday nights for a group of friends. Learn a new skill together or bring along your own project.
$45 per person, including instruction and snacks. BYO sips. Any extra materials are charged separately.
Ask about a dateBefore you book
Daytime classes are limited to 6 places, because the shop is open while we knit. Evening group classes take 8 to 10 people, by arrangement.
Need to cancel? Let me know at least 2 days before the class and I will refund you in full. After that, I can only refund you if someone else takes your place.
If a class fills quickly and a waiting list builds, I will add more. I aim to run classes at different times so workers and caregivers can come too.
The classes will grow with what you want to learn, and I will look for guest presenters to bring new skills.
Beginner classes
Hats and beanies, dishcloths, peggy squares and blankets, children’s knitting, sleeveless vests, scarves, and getting to grips with circular needles.
Skill classes
Colourwork and fair isle, intarsia, cables, socks, reading a pattern and understanding the abbreviations, and writing patterns of your own.
Crochet classes
Starting out with a dishcloth or a washcloth, amigurumi toys and critters, squares and blankets, hats, and children’s wear.
Knitting for blokes
A class of its own, with guest tutors.
Knit and natter
Not a class at all. A chair, a project on the go and good company, which is half the reason a wool shop exists.
If it is not on the list, ask anyway
Whatever you would like to learn, put it on the form. If I do not know how to do it, I will find a tutor who does.
